The goal of the Emerging Voices Youth Advisory Council is to empower youth to have both a voice and a seat at the table in shaping Duluth’s future. By engaging them now, we are building future leaders who will strengthen our community for years to come.
The Emerging Voices Youth Advisory Council provides youth with opportunities to:
Work directly with city and community leaders
Participate in hands-on service projects
Share their perspectives on important community issues
Explore pathways to future civic leadership
Students and young adults ages 17–21 who live, work, or study in Duluth or surrounding areas
Youth who are curious about local government, leadership, and civic life
Next-generation leaders who want to make a difference in their community
Learn how local government works
Gain leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
Serve your community in meaningful ways
Build connections with mentors and peers
Earn recognition for your contributions
Strengthen your college, scholarship, or job applications
Participants should:
Be 17–21 years old
Live, work, or attend school in Duluth or surrounding areas
Be able to attend monthly sessions (October–February)
Be interested in leadership, service, or civic engagement
Commit to active participation in projects and discussions
Complete the registration form.

Applications will be reviewed to ensure a well-rounded and committed group of participants.
Deadline to register: October 11, 2025
We welcome local organizations, leaders, and volunteers to support the Council through mentorship, resources, or participation in sessions.
